Volvo to cover charging costs of hybrid vehiclesBy Charlotte Whyatt - Wed 27th Nov 2019
Customers who purchase one of Volvo’s plug-in hybrid vehicles will have their charging costs covered for a year.
Available to both private and business customers, you can take advantage of this offer between now and 30th June 2020.
Charging times will be monitored by the free Volvo On Call app which you’ll need to download from the App or Google Play Store.
The appropriate sum will then be issued at the end of the 12 months based on the average cost of electricity in the UK.
Customers are required to have kept the vehicle for that amount of time in order to receive this cashback.
Other uses of the Volvo on Call app include locating your nearest EV charging station and scheduling charge times at home.
It’s Volvo’s hope that the scheme will encourage customers to keep their hybrid vehicles fully charged thereby allowing the benefits of electric power, like reduced tailpipe emissions, to kick in.
“It’s crucial that we help our plug-in hybrid customers understand how they can make the most of their car’s electric potential,” said Kristian Elvefors, Volvo Car UK’s managing director.
“So, by meeting their electricity charging costs for a year, we can encourage them to develop the good habit of regularly recharging their car’s battery, as well as saving them money at the same time.”
